Awake potential tourism of con Cuong

Con Cuong district (Nghe An) with National Park of Pu Mat, a large potential for eco - culture tourism, have Lam river with more than 30 km flows through the district. The tourism potentials of Con Cuong extremely need investment capital and human resources to exploit.


Located on the southwest of Nghe An province, border neighboring country of Lao, Con Cuong district has natural area of more than 174,451 ha with population of more than 68,000 people, belong to seven ethnic groups.

From the early years of 70’s decade of the previous century, the archeologists was conducted to excavate Tham Om cave (Hang Oc), to which concluded more than ten thousand years ago, the primitive man has lived here. Con Cuong is a plentiful land, Con Cuong town is one of most large and beautiful districts in Nghe An province. The town has Lam river flowing through, with the National highway 7A, mountains and forests located in the buffer zone of national park of Pu Mat. This is the destination of tourists in the route Vinh - Ky Son or Ha Noi to Nam Can border gate.

In total area of the district had 128,000 ha of forest in the national park of Pu Mat and natural reserve of Pu Huong. This is Asia's largest carpet of fauna and flora, with over 1,200 species of rare plants, hundred of species of forest animals, in which animals such as: spotted deer, striped tiger, elephant, Truong Son large animal, red-tail wolf ... are listed in the world’s red book, hundred of species of fish, bat, beautiful butterfly. In primary forest has many beautiful waterfalls such as Kem waterfall, Nuoc Moc stream and many interesting caves: Tham Om cave, Nang Man cave, Ong Trang cave, Ma Nhai stele, Ðao Nguyen cave, where has Tra Lan ancient citadel as tourist attraction.


River system of Con Cuong with more than 20,000 ha of water surface area, creating rich sources of aquatic products in which famous fishes are Giang river cool fish, Ca river hemibagrus, Con Cuong Lech fish that are famous delicious specialties of Indochina. From the geographical location and charming landscape above created a strong point of eco-tourism and great, rich resource for Con Cuong. As for timber stock, Con Cuong forest has large quantity with hundred of millions of cubic meter, a variety of precious woods like ironwood, rosewood, bassia, teakwood, syringa, cypress... Rivers and streams system such as Lam river, Giang River, Choang brook, Thoi brook... are sources for building hydroelectric plant for the country some day.

In earth’s bowels of Con Cuong has gold mineral, lead ore mines, coal in Ðon Phuc, Chi Khe. Eastern mountain side of Truong Son range with billions of cubic meter of rocky mountains, an abundant raw material source to produce cement and building materials. Con Cuong has 7 brotherhood ethnic groups live together in harmony.

The congregation of ethnic groups creating specific cultural picture, imbued with traditional identity of local peoples such as Thai, Dan Lai, Kho Mu ... and the special cultural identity of Can wine "not drunk is not cheerful" with gentle dance of highland girls. All above things are gradually becoming reality, invaluable resource, important condition, to build Con Cuong into an economic-cultural center of the southwest of Nghe region.

The above potential is strong point for Con Cuong tourism building many types of eco-cultural tourism such as: the Bo garden - Trung Chinh - Kem Waterfall tour, Con Cuong - Pha Lai towns tour, Khe Choang - Pu Mat summit adventurous tour, visit ethnic group of Dan Lai, visit Yen Thanh brocade-making village... Recently in the planning map, the province has announced construction of Con Cuong tourist town, accompanied with publication of planning Kem Waterfall tourist site, Pha Lai and are calling investors in the country and abroad for investment.

When assess achievements in more than 20 years of innovation, Con Cuong has been recognized outstanding achievement for keeping good green forests, forest cover density reached 76.5%. With more than 3,000 ha of agricultural production land, Con Cuong has brought new breed, invest and cultivate better to balance food in the area, the percentage of hungry, poverty households were significantly reduced every year.

But to open direction for exploitting potential eco-tourism from internal element of a poor district, budget revenue for around 5 billion VND a year is a great difficulty.

Eco-tourism of national park of Pu Mat, Kem Waterfall tourism and many landscapes with traditional culture tourism... create sustainable source of income which really need capital, technology and methodic, professional trained human resources. Con Cuong with plentiful potential, but that potential is only awaken by the investment of State, when the target of poverty escaped by 2010 was coming near.

Pu Mat National Park

Pu Mat National Park is located in the middle of the Annamite Pu Mat National Park is located in Anh Son, Con Cuong and Tuong Duong districts, Nghe An Province, about 130km from Vinh City.


 


























The park, formerly known as Pu Mat National Reserve, covers an area of over 91,000ha and has 896 flora species, 241 mammal species, 137 bird species, 25 reptiles and 15 amphibians. Many scientists also see Pu Mat as Viet Nam’s great museum of animal gene pool.




Significantly, Pu Mat is one of Viet Nam’s rare forests such as Quang Nam, Danang, Ha Tinh and Thua Thien-Hue where sao la (long-horned bovid or scientific name Pseudoryx nghetinhensis) can be found. Sao la is one of the animals facing extinction, according to the World Conservation Union’s Red List of Endangered Species.

Together with many unique animals, the primitive forest also has many beautiful landscapes. Among the favourite destinations are the 150m Kem Waterfall, Giang River and ethnic minority villages in the forest such as Thai, Tho, Dan Lai and H’Mong.

The trekking tours, where travellers have an opportunity to explore the jungle and unique villages, are among the top choices for visitors of Pu Mat. These tours also allow visitors to speak to ethnic minorities and learn about their arts and culture, visit villages making brocades or tho cam and enjoy special food such as com lam (rice in bamboo cylinders).

Cua Lo sea tourism season 2012 launched

Cua Lo town in the central province of Nghe An hosted a ceremony on April 30 to launch this year’s sea tourism season. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung attended the event.

 
In this year’s season, Cua Lo town has set a target to welcome 2.1 million tourists, earning revenues of more than VND1.1 trillion (USD52.3 million).

To prepare for the season, Cua Lo town has upgraded tourist sites and shops along the beach, embarked on measures to ensure food hygiene and safety for tourists, improved service quality, introduced new tourism products and restored traditional coastal villages.

A wide range of activities featuring the coastal culture and portraying the land and people of Cua Lo will be held during the season to attract tourists from both in and outside the country. 

 

Cua Lo beach, which stretches over 10km, is one of the most beautiful beaches in central Vietnam with white sand and clear blue water.

Geography
Nghe An is a large province in the central part of Vietnam that connects the North to the South. Nghe An shares its border with Thanh Hoa in the north, East Sea in the east, Laos in the west, and Ha Tinh in the south.


Nghe An is located on the North East of Truong Son range, with complicated topography, divided by hills, mountains, rivers and streams slanting from North-West to South-East, the highest peak is Pulaileng (2,711m) in Ky Son district, the low areas are Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh districts and the lowest one is Quynh Thanh commune in Quynh Luu district with the altitude of 0,2m above the sea level. Mountainous and hilly lands cover 83% natural area of the whole province.

Climate:The province is located in the tropical monsoon area, directly affected by the South West hot dry seasonal winds (during April- August) and the North East wet and cold seasonal winds (during November- March). The annual average temperature varies between 23ºC and 24ºC.

Tourism
Nghe An has enjoyed favourable conditions in terms of geographical location. The province has the national highways and railway, as well as the Cua Lo International Port and Vinh Airport. Nghe An marks the starting point of the Heritage route in the central part, and the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. In addition, it is also the starting point of the tourist route following the east-west corridor, connecting Vinh – Laos – Thailand through Highway No. 8.

Two thirds of its area is forested. Nature has endowed Nghe An with beautiful landscapes for tourism development. Among them include its long seaside with pristine beaches, especially Cua Lo which is considered one of the best in Vietnam, and Pu Mat National Park, which is home to diverse flora and fauna, apart from breath-taking landscapes.

Nghe An takes pride in its tradition in the building and defence of the nation. One hundred and thirty-one historical-cultural sites have been recognized as national treasures. The Kim Lien historical-cultural site, the native village of President Ho Chi Minh, World Cultural Celebrity and National Liberation Hero, is one among those.

Nghe An people have won kudos for their intelligence, diligence, eagerness to study and their hospitality, cultural traditional imbued with national identity. Nghe An is fast changing with every passing days. It will be a highlighted destination for tourists near and far.

Transportation
Nghe An is one of the important clue of transportation throughout the country. It has diversified and developed transportation, including land road, railway, river road, air port and sea port which are formed and scattered quite reasonably by residential zone, economic and administration centre.

-Road: highway 7, highway 48, highway 46, highway 15... Vinh is 14km from Kim Lien Village, 16km from Cua Lo Beach, 139km from Thanh Hoa, 197km from Dong Hoi, 291km from Hanoi, 368km from Hue, and 468km from Danang.



- Railway: 124km (of which 94km North - South line, with 7 stations, Vinh station is the main station.

- Airway: Vinh airport, Vinh - Danang - Tan Son Nhat flight (and reverse direction).

- Seaport: Cua Lo port now for the 10,000 toned ship. It will be convenience for being the international clue.
